Reed Finfrock on the 8-foot-wide section of Route66 outside Vinita, Oklahoma. Just look at it - it's itchin' to be declared a national bike path... Tim Arnold in profile ... he's determined catch wife Vicki up ahead... The 8-foot wide section turns to ochre... The road turns red. Pretty soon our tires will be coated.

Lon Haldeman and Susan Notorangelo of PACTOUR ride every mile to make sure their routes are up to date. The red road leaves some frosting on our tires. Sticks like s*** to a blanket, Franz was not heard to say. Not many Air Fridays get to roll in the dirt - Lon's does it all the time.

Now Leon's tires match his Brooks saddle and bars. Such style! Southern end of organic mechanic Lon as he washes the mud off his rims in a handy water source nearby. Make sure you feel for goatheads! Whoops... we took a wrong turn ... and ended up in Miami! Susan points out the Coleman Theater in Miami, Oklahoma, pronounced Miam-a.
