An arty horse greets us in the surprisingly large town of Amarillo, TX. The Big Texan is a complete cowboy theme motel, streak anch and home of the 72 oz. steak challenge, next up on my plate... Sue confesses she rode *only* 93 miles - we won't tell anyone.

Reed looks pretty tired after 125 miles - but this man's a 3x RAAM contender and finisher. And doesn't that jaw remind you of a movie star, gals? Sorry, he's happily married! The neat cow-patterned bedspreads in the Big Texas motel. When asked how he liked his pink hotel room Paul mumbled something about Brokeback Bikers ... Gerd says he's eaten about 3 oz of steak in the past month and nothing's gonna change after he walks though the door. What's that - a buffulo spleen??!!? The challenge involves eating not only the 72 oz steak (cooked how you like it) but a shrimp cocktail,. salad, baked potato and a sourdough roll - all within 1 hour.

Ronnie Bell and Joe Smith look like little kids in the Big Chair. Ronnie is a RAMM 70+ Masters champ, among other accolades - oh, he's a Bike Friday owner too. Ronnie and Joe relax into it. This young man was doing the challenge when we arrived - just for his girlfriend. The restaurant is a shrine to a carnivorous, cowpokin' life. There's even a mock shooting range over yonder in the bar. Lon forks out the 72 bucks and put me up to the 72 oz steak challenge.
