Day 11: Grants NM-Albuquerque, NM (83 miles): Bistee the PACTOUR dog is bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6am. No matter whether it's called Grants Cafe or El Taco Rio it always serves Mexican - there's no escaping it. Classic 66 signeage. Doncha love the little flags? Jim Hlvaka, our crew member with the unpronounceable name - and a very, very strong PACTOUR cyclist. He does about 10,000 miles of cycling a year. One of those magical mesa moments on the way to Abuquerque.

Federico is a wood carver that Lon wanted us to meet. He wasn't home, but you can see his handiwork on his house. He carves church doorways and loooooooooog tables. A classic small town name! Jay and Franz, two of the fast guys. Day 10: Gerd Rosenblatt, 72, is still off the front! St Joseph's Mission in Old Laguna, on the way to Santa Fe.

Another view of that church. The view inside St Joseph's Mission. Roof of St John's Mission. A wall in St John's Mission. Jim Bradbury is keeping a blog of the tour on www.jimbradbury.net. He works for the Sierra Club.
