The famous Pound Ridge second hand store where I found my hosts a garlic press from Italy. Fall in Ossining, NY I could live in something like this. Greater NY has some delightful spots where you could be a million miles from traffic. The following shots are of a delightful reserve, a stone's throw from Jim and Rosemary's place in Ossining.

My Westchester hosts Jim and Rosemary Meyers have a dream kitchen and Jim is a dream cook. Seared tuna with avocado on sushi ride ... where do find a guy who cooks? I met Jim and Rosemary on the Route66 trip. Rosemary crewed. Food doesn't get much better than this.

The Westchester NY Bike Club's Golden Apple Century was full of golden moments like this. No wonder I got dropped! The Meyers treated me to a spectacular wine dinner at Peter Pratt's restaurant, in conjunction with Suburban Wines. To start ... Vanilla Olive Oil Poached Halibut Salad, Frisee, Grilled Masa Cornbread slice, Creamy Corn Puree, Basil, Mint and Tarragon Pi Warm sliced Peking Duck Breast and Proscuitto, Cranberry Bean & Pearl Pasta Stew, Beet Gnocchi, Beet Reduced Red Wine Reduction ... Proprietors of Suburban Wines www.suburbanwines.com who hosted the dinner. There's nothing *gulp* 'suburban' about the wines in their glasses! Just take a look at this menu. These are serious wines. And they get more serious as you go down the page. Although one would think you could get away with just the reverse, as the night wears on and quips turn into intense debates ...
