Cam cranking it in Waimanalo, one of the nicest places to ride on Oahu... January 16, 2008: met at Honolulu airport in true Hawaiian style by John Climaldi, HBL Events Director. That's real lei there, not a plastic one! John totes the tikit to my HBL Annual Membership dinner talk. Note his dinner attire ... BF Club of Hawaii leader Ralph Dobson and Bernice dig ito the Hawaiian buffet. Pulled pork and lau lau (pork and fish wrapped in banana leaves - a knd of surf and turf, or rather, pond and puddle). Natalie wins a Volunteer of the Year award for her work with bicycles and schoolkids. Lau lau, a traditional Hawaiian meak of pork and fish steamed together in banana leaves.

For some reason the words 'aloha' and 'petroleum' made a strange pair bond ... I loved that Japanese green seaweed salad until I found out, in CostCo, what was in it. Eating Ted's Macadamia Cream Pie on a north shore ride - in a rare moment of ignoring the ingredient list .... Hawaii Bicycling League funsters on a Haliewa Century Pre-ride - aborted after 10 miles due to a Ted's Macadamia Cream Pie stop! Clockwise: Don, Nick, Jim, Audrey, Carol, and the Gal. Guess who are the two Bike Friday customers ... HBL ride leader Carol tries out John Climaldi's ti Bacchetta recumbent ... the most fun you can have lying down - well almost ...
