The decor on the side of the PACTOUR garage. Susan;s garden with southern end of Bisti the dog. Meeting point for cyclists. From left: John Palmer, 2005 RAAM finisher; John Greenfield, Chicago Bicycle Federation employee, Jim who owns the Handlebar cafe in Chicago, and Lon Haldeman. JIm's fancy $300 MSR tent. Jim and John were doing their annual Wisconsin/Illinois State Line ride and passed the night here. Lon Haldeman and RAAM 2005 finisher John Palmer head for the Sat morning social ride at the Elkhorn Fitness club for beginners. 20 miles there, 20 mile ride, 20 miles back. A 60 mile day!

Lon and his parents Ed and Mary Jane test out a new restaurant in Harvard (Adriana's) as a lunch stop for riders on the PACTUR Wisconsin Cycling Camp, Aug 12-19, 2006 Adriana's is owned by Nick, one of Lon's school pals. You can go into ultramarathon cycling or open a restaurant... take your pick! This was in the window of a Sharon storefront. Riding in the Haldeman's home town of Sharon, Wisconsin, population very few. Here, Lon proves he can ride almost as slow as me on his clunker. That's wife Susan and PACTOUR crew Debbie Henning, whos hubby Roger has a Classic Friday. Sharon has a single main street with 1 bank, 1 ice cream store, 1 pub, 1 grocer, and that's about it. Rural bliss!

19 year old daughter Rebecca Haldeman on her single speed. Rebecca is following in her parent's pedal strokes - and has inherited the legs to prove it. She is keenly interested in everything to do with bikes, including building up her single speed from scratch. Lon and Roger have a giant collection of John Deere miniatures. The truck on the right is a precision - everything moves. The one on the left is a simple one - no moving parts, but is worth more as a collector's item. Roger Henning shows off an ingenious alternative to black out curtains - hinged panels on the windows! Roger Henning, PACTOUR crewmember and neighbor, and a giant willow (50 years) in this back yard.
