Bike Friday owner and indonesia expert Colin Freestone presents his tour www.cycleindonesia.com.au in Sulawesi to the Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club Sulawesi up close. Apparently there's great diving right up the top right. Colin shows the bike route for his expedition through South Sulawesi www.cycleindonesia.com.au If you have land in Indonesia, you're set, If you don't you have to eke out a living on the water as fisherman, or labor for others. Keith, founder of the Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club and one of the first people to import and design a touring bike in Australia with bar end shifters, shows how the tikit can balance by itself on the end of its folding pedal. Melbourne Bicycle Touring Clubbers leaving the meeting. A Bike Friday tikit, a triple, and a Moulton ridden by Moulton rep Michael Kater. Old friend and host Laurance Wade with Darcy. Laurence has his own Wine and Cheese education business, www.bonvivant.com.au A little "milk bar" in this tiny street where I use to live has become a cool cafe, nesteled under a riotously ornate art deco building. There should be more of this in suburbia. I use to live in on the second floor of this divine pied-a-terre ... those were the days ...

Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club ride, starting at Federation Square, Melbourne. Many small wheeled bikes came out including Moultons, Bromptons and even a couple of Fridays! The Sullivans was an Aussie soap opera set during WWII that ran for many years. Somehow I don't recall this shop in the show having such a giant sign saying Sullivan House on it ... Some of the locals had never been here ... pays to jump on a local bike club ride, no matter how long you've lived in a place. www.mbtc.org.au Stopping for morning tea at charming and very gentrified Canterbury. The Trojan Dog! Melbourne is arty even in, and some would say especially in, the burbs.

Fabulous urban paths and trails snake all round Melbourne under bridges and over rivers for at least a 50km round trip. Melbourne street art got to us eventually and we had to do our bit. Ann, Shane, Peng, The Galfromdownunder (Bike Friday) and Mike Kater (Moulton). Plus Moulton, Brompton and Bike Friday. These small wheel folk get up to the goofiest things! The BMX that reached for the stars... Melbourne urban art and a very cool bridge.
